HOW TO CREATE DIAL-UP NETWORKING

 

      Windows 95 and Windows 98

  1.             Double click on My Computer on Desktop.

    2.                Double click on Dial-Up Networking.

    3.             Right click on Network Konnection and Left click on properties.

    4. Enter area code and new number in the Telephone number box.   Make sure country code and area code is uncheck.  To avoid long distance charge.

5.    Click Server Types, make sure in Advance options enable software compression is checked and in Allowed network protocols TCP/IP is checked.

6. Click on TCP/IP Settings. Make sure Server assigned IP address and Specify name server address are selected.   In Specify name server addresses Primary DNS numbers are 63.140.32.3 and the Secondary DNS are  63.140.240.254 and third DNS 63.140.32.4

Note: The Primary and Secondary WINS are all zeros.

Make use IP header compression and Default gateway on remote network  is checked.

 

7.   Click OK Click OK

8.. Drag Network Konnection icon to Desktop to replace old one.

9. X in the upper right to exit.

 

 

SETTING UP THE NETWORK CONFIGURATIONS

  1.        Double click on My Computer on Desktop.

    4.         Double click on Control Panel and Double click on Network

    5. In Network screen,  under the Configuration tab the minimum network components are installed as follows: Client for Microsoft Network , Dial-Up Adapter, TCP/IP. If these components are installed please continue on to number 10 and follow the instructions through out.

6) To Add Client first highlight the Client icon with your left mouse button and left click on Add to your left.

7) Under Manufacturers select Microsoft.   Under Network Clients, select Client for Microsoft Networks the click on OK. This will bring you back to Network screen.

8) On the Network screen please click Add.   Under Select Network Component Type please highylight Protocol and then click Add

 

9) In Manufacturers highlight Microsoft.   Under Network Protocols highlight TCP/IP then click on OK.  This will bring you to the Network screen which lists the following compents that are installed.

 

10)  Highlight TCP/IP then click Properties using you left mouse button.

    11)  Please dot Obtain an IP Address Automatically. Then left click on DNS Configuration.  Select Enable DNS. Continue by enter your username for Host and netkonnect.net for Domain.

    

    12) In DNS Server Search Order please enter IP numbers: 63.140.32.3 then 63.140.240.254, and 63.140.32.4 (make sure you press period in between numbers, then press add.)

    13)  Next left click on Gateway Tab.   In the New gateway box please type in IP address 216.49.74.1 then click Add. Repeat 63.140.32.1 then click Add.  (You will now notice that the ip addressess will drop into install gateway box.)

  

    14).  Click on Identification Tab.   Next to Computer name enter your username.   Next to Workgroup enter netkonnect.net.

15)    Click OK again the computer will ask for you CD and reboot.

16)     Click on Intenet icon and your ready to surf.

 

Note: If the computer ask to install again select already installed.
